The control valve for an air ventilation stack, especially a scrubber unit, suitable for a refrigerator for the storage of fruit to lengthen the ripening time, incorporates magnetic valves, one on the side of the active coolant and one on the side of the ventilation unit. Each control valve is in the form of a tubular member held in an annular support and provided with a relatively elastic mass which functions as a valve seat. The mass operates against the force of a recoil spring. A third magnetic valve is connected to the store in which the fruit or other foodstuff is stored under the controlled conditions.
