<p>Water reservoir to be mounted flat above the sole plate of a steam iron comprises a metal base, and a lid of translucent injection-moulded thermoplastic material and is pref. mounted beneath a hood which covers the sole plate, with a seal consisting of a silicone cpd. having a certain elasticity interposed between base and lid. The lid may comprise a longitudinally extending projection which projects beyond the hood to form a visible level indicator and which is hollowed out to form a longitudinal groove which allows the level to be seen more easily. The base may be made of translucent injection-moulded thermoplastic material instead of metal. A vertical tubular channely may be formed in the lid, and provided with a side opening to allow filling of the reservoir from the front of the iron.</p> |
