<p>Visual detector indicates when exchange resins are satd.; where the resins are used for the purificn. of liqs. such as rinsing baths in plant employed for chemical or electrolytic surface treatments. Each exchanger contains a vertical tube with its bottom end just above the grid employed to retain the resin in the exchanger; the top end of the tube is connected to a detector contg. either a small amt. of the resin, or a small amt. of the resin impregnated with a chemical indicator. The detector is in a location where it is easily seen, and a change in colour indicates that the resin is exhausted. A simple, reliable and inexpensive device is obtd., requiring no electronic equipment which is often employed in such detection appts.</p> |
