A mixer tap for hot and cold water has a single manually operated lever that is moved up and down for total flow rate control and is moved in an arc for mixture adjustment. The centre valve spindle (3) has a seal (16) at the bottom end that locates against the inside of a bush (2) to provide shut off sealing. An outer flexible bush (14) also closes off against hot and cold inlet ports (1a, 1b). When the control level is moved upwards the spindle (3) and compound bush (12, 14) moves down to allow flow to pass over ports (14a, 14b) to outlet to control overall flow rate. The spindle and bushes may also be rotated by swinging the lever (17) through an arc.
|
