<p>A system of joints for structures using concrete panels, uses joints formed from metallic inserts, which may be used at panel junctions and for ground supports. In section, the main joint has two longitudinal ribs, the upper one (2) being much smaller than the lower (3). These ribs are attached to a web (1) in the same plane as the edge flanges. Adjacent sections may be connected by a metallic 'splint' (8) or clip which spans the joint and viewed in section resembles a double arrow head, open at the shaft end. This clip slides over the upper rib (2) of the joint. Both parts of the joint may be positioned before concrete is poured, if desired. The large rib of the joint guide may be embedded in lumps of concrete on the ground and systems of setting the level of the joint before pouring the concrete are also given.</p> |
