<p>The traction vehicle travels on rails and is driven by engaging a stationary cable mounted above the ground at almost the height of the wheels. Vertical guide pulleys are arranged at the front and rear, and horizontal guide pulleys are placed between front and rear bogies. This drive unit includes pulleys around which the cable is wrapped more than once to ensure a positive grip on the cable. One of the pulleys is driven through gearing. The vehicle has brakes which are applied to both pulleys, and another brake on the drive unit.</p> |
