A plasticised mass of synthetic material is injected into a mould at a variable injection speed corresp. to a predetermined speed profile. When the mould is filled, the slot is densified, and during the densifying phase, the injection press. is switched over to a predetermined control press. Shortly before filling is completed, the injection speed is so sharply reduced that densifying can be carried out much more slowly, and this redn. cuts back the injection speed very closely to that corresp. to the control press. The changeover to the control press. only takes place towards the end of the densifying phase. The process makes it unnecessary to fit expensive and very often troublesome control equipment. Ensures consistently uniform mouldings and prevents damage to the moulds by shock loading. The maximal filling press. varies, as do the wt. and dimensional accuracy of the mouldings, only between very narrow tolerances.
|
