<p>An hydraulic press includes two press blocks, one block being connected to four guide rods which are slideable in apertures in the other block. Each guide rod carries a piston slideable in a cylinder to which hydraulic fluid can be supplied to move the press blocks together and apart. Each guide rod has an extension extending from the cylinder. The diameter of two of the extensions is less than the dia. of the associated guide rod whilst the diameter of the other two extensions is greater than the dia. of the other guide rods. The guide rods pref. connect the corners of the press blocks and the differences in dia. allow the press plates to be sepd. using only two cylinders. The press is compact and cheap to produce.</p> |
