<p>A connection sleeve if for HV cables. The cables are of the type insulated with a plastics material and the paper insulated bulk-filled type with a metallic sheat. The sleeve comprises an insulating body embracing the point of connection of the conductors, and a bulk-filled housing (4) surrounding the insulating body (3). The metallic sheath of the bulk-filled HV calbe is provided with one or more orifices where it is located within the housing. The orifices serve to provide pressure balance between the bulk material inside the sleeve and teh bulk material within the paper insulation.</p> |
