1528547 Metal complex monoazomethine dyes HOECHST AG 28 July 1976 [30 July 1975] 31434/76 Heading C4P The invention comprises metal-containing monoazomethine compounds of the formulae wherein R is an aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic radical which may be substituted; R<SP>1</SP> is the same as the aromatic value of R except that it has one less hydrogen atom in the o-position to the linkage to nitrogen; M is a bivalent metal atom; Z is a ligand and X is carboxy, esterified carboxy or optionally substituted aminocarbonyl or hydrazinocarbonyl. Preferred complex-forming groups are -O-, -COO- or -N(phenyl)- and preferred bivalent metals are copper, cobalt, nickel, zinc and manganese. They may be prepared by condensing one mole of one or more amines of the formula H 2 N-R with one mole of one or more compounds of the Formula (III) and simultaneously or subsequently metallizing the resulting monoazomethine. The compounds of Formulae (Ia) and (Ib) may be used for bulk dying high molecular weight plastics materials and spinning masses, e.g. viscose, cellulose acetate, polyethylene, polystyrene, and PVC and also for colouring caoutchouc, synthetic leather, paper, lacquers and paints. |
