BENZOCYCLOHEPTENE DERIVATIVES

Cpds. of formula (I) and their salts and intermediates (II): (where R1 = opt. substd. amino, lower hydroxyalkyl or hydroxy which may be protected; R2 = opt. protected hydroxy; R3 = H or opt. substd. hydrocarbyl; R'1 = R1 or a group which may be reduced to give R1; A1 = -NHR3 or a group which may be reduced to -NHR3; X = CO or CH-OH; with the condition when A1 = -NHR3 then X=CO) are bronchodilators (beta2- adrenergic stimulators) used in the treatment of asthma which have only weak beta1-adrenergic stimulation side-effect (cardiac stimulation), analgesics, anti-inflammatories, antihypertensives and intermediates. The cpds. are also to treat migraine, hypertensives etc.
