<p>The load surface of the lorry is bolted to a rigid support frame which is mounted on the chassis using three pivot points. A front pivot point is located in the centre line of the lorry, between front and rear axles, and pivots about a longitudinal axis. The two rear points are at the rear corners of the lorry and pivot about transverse axes. The system isolates the load surface from chassis torsitional twisting over rough ground. It enables the vehicle to be used over a wide temperature range without thermal twisting. For added support elastic blocks are wedged between the frame and the chassis.</p> |
