Horseshoe retained by tensioned bands - has upturned beaded flaps with hoof cushion and inserted calkings

The shoe is for use by hoofed animals, esp. horses. It has a walking surface (4) with upstanding, elastic edges with a beaded rim. The edge flaps (5) are encircled by a taut band (7) which pulls them close together and flush with the sloping surfaces of the hoof (3) of the horse. A series of rubber calking inserts (14) are provided, which are fitted through holes or cut out pieces (11) in the walking surface (4) of the shoe. These calkings have studs (16) of hard metal between the hoof and the shoe base is an elastomeric cushion.
