The blade (10) carries a number of teeth (11) with hard metal cutting edges (12). The total number of teeth is arranged on the perimeter of the blade in two groups in such a way that on each group the teeth are increasingly protruding radially from the circular path of the blade. The blade is is also fitted with two or more cutting edges (14) protruding from the plane of the blade by about two degrees and formed by a sharp kink (15) of the blade material. The rake angle delta of the cutting edges (13, 16) is selected according to the type of wood to be cut. Adjacent to the kink (15) the blade has a number of perforations (20) to prevent deformations of the edge due to thermal stresses.
