The heating element, for fan-assisted air heaters, is simple to manufacture and assemble and consists of metal grilled or meshes of resistance material (1). The grilles may have various shapes and configurations. They may form two series-coupled parallel strips between two end supports. The ends are clamped between metal plates that have connection terminals for the supply leads. The plates at opposite ends of the strips are supported by a long rod parallel to the strips. In another form the strips may make a cobweb configuration, and yet another zigzag shape.
