Both means depend from the support 10 when the movable part 3 of the bed is in its storage position and both are pivotally connected to that portion of the movable part that is lowermost when the movable part is in its storage position. When the movable part is moved from its storage to its use position said link means and said movable part portion swing away from the wall 2 and the portion rises. As the movable part is moved between its positions of use and storage the centre of gravity of the movable part rises and falls again so that when the movable part is near either one of those positions gravitational forces urge it towards that position In the embodiment shown, the support 1 comprises a back panel 5, a top panel 9 and side panels 7. Attached to each side panel 7 is a vertical bar 10 to which is pivoted upper and lower links 11, 12 which are pivoted at their other ends to a bar 15 attached to the mattress carrier 3. Each leg 20 is pivoted to the carrier 3 at 22 and has a plate 21 to which is pivoted a bar 24 which, when the bed is stored, causes the leg 20 to swing up against the carrier 3. A latch arrangement Fig. 1 may be provided in which a foot lever 26 is pivoted sideways to draw down a further lever to which are attached rods 39 which disengage the latches.
