When the receiver is in stand-by state, the channels are periodically and consecutively connected, until a call is detected. When a connection is to be established, channels are consecutively tested until a free channel is found. In stand-by state the selective call sender and evaluating device are set to the station's own address, and are reset during a connection reception to the required subscriber address. Selective call frequency range is such that the calls are not audible in the receiver. Selective call sender continuously transmits the set selective call during sender operating at a level lower than the calling level, and a time switch automatically resets the station to stand-by state when, after a certain time, it neither transmits nor is its call received.
|
