A process for the determination of cell types or of cell compatability on a solid support material is described. In this process, a first cell layer is bound to the support material, these cells containing antigens or being provided with antigens. This first layer is then brought into contact with a solution which contains antibodies and, by means of immunoabsorption, antibodies are bound to the extent to which the antibodies of this solution are reactive with the antigens of the cells of the first layer. A suspension of second cells which carry antigens is then introduced, and the extent of the immunoadhesion of the second cells is determined by antibodies which are bonded to the first cell layer. In the process described here, the first cells, which are reactive, form a monolayer which is irreversibly bound to the support material. As a result, both agglutination tests and cell lysis tests can be substantially improved, and relatively unskilled personnel can carry out the tests in question. |
