Polluting petroleum and only wastes are degraded microbially by introducing an aq. mixture of effluent and a microorganism (Candida parapsilosis ATCC 20246, C. tropicatis ATCC 20247, C. utilis ATCC 20248, Aureobasidium pullulans ATCC 20249, Myrothecium verrucaria ATCC 20250, Cladosporium cladosporioides ATCC 20251, Saccharomyces cerevisiae ATCC 20252, Aspergillus sp. ATCC 20253, Phodotorula sp. ATCC 20254, Candida lipolytica ATCC 20255, ATCC 20362, ATCC 20363 or 20364, Nocardia corallina ATCC 21504, N. globerula ATCC 21505 or 21506, N. opaca ATCC 21507, N. rubra ATCC 21508, N. paraffinae ATCC 21509 or Pencillium sp. ATCC 20369 or mutans thereof) together with necessary nutrients to a degradation system, aerating or stirring to substantially degraded all pollutants, conveying the mixture to a second degradation system and adding a fresh charge of microorganism and nutrients. Different microorganisms are pref. used in the second degradation. Eg Penicillium sp. ATCC 20369 is used in the first and Candida lipolytica ATCC 20362 in the second. Plurality of tanks may be used in each degradation and the effluent may be filtered between the two degradation systems, and after the second.
|
