1437204 Dyeing with azoic dyes CIBAGEIGY AG 26 June 1973 [26 June 1972] 30375/73 Heading D1B Organic materials are dyed or printed with azoic dyes by applying successively in any desired sequence, or simultaneously a diazo salt and a coupling component which is of formula: in which R1 is hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl group, a fibre-reactive acylaminoalkyl group, optionally substituted aryl group, a heterocyclic radical, an acylamino group, an aralkyl group, an alkylene group bound optionally via a heteroatom to a heterocyclic group, an alkoxy group, a quaternary ammonium group, an amino group or an N- amino or N, N-disubstituted amino group, R2 is hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl group, cyclohexyl, cyano, nitro, nitroso, amino, acylamino group optionally containing fibre-reactive groups, alkyl-carbonyl, arylcarbonyl, sulphonyl, aminosulphonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, or aminocarbonyl group, a halogen atom, a sulphoalkyl group, an acylaminomethyl group, wherein the acyl radical is of formula -CORX in which R is alkylene and X is a halogen atom, a quaternised amino group or sulpho group, or a group of formulae: wherein the two -CO- and -SO2- groups are bound in tihe adjacent position to a 6- membered aromatic ring, the sulpho- or carboxy group, a quaternised amino group, or a group of formula: in which the nitrogen atom is part of a 5- membered or 6-membered ring which can further contain hetero nitrogen or oxygen atoms, R3 is hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl group, optionally substituted aryl group, a heterocyclic radical, a cyano group, alkoxycarbonyl group, or aryloxycarbonyl group, aminocarbonyl group, alkoxycarbonylmethyl or aryloxycarbonyl methyl group, cyanomethyl group, acylmethyl group, amino carboxymethyl group, the carboxy or a hydroxymethyl group, or the coupling component is of formula: in which R2 and R3 are as above, X is -(CH2)n-, n is 2 or 3 or a 1, 2-phenylene group, or is of formula: in which R1 is as in the first formula above, R2 and R3 together with the carbon of the pyridone ring form a 5- or 6-membered ring, or the coupling component has the general formula: in which X is a hydroxy or amino group and Y is hydrogen or halogen. Leather and textile substrates may be dyed.
