<p>The bottle corkscrew has a cylindrical tubular metal body, widened at the bottom to fit over the bottle neck, and containing the withdrawal mechanism. The tube (1) has a projecting lug with a hole accommodating a trunnion (10) forming the support and pivot point for a lever (20). Movement of the lever is transmitted by two hinged side links (3), connected through slots to a cylindrical block (7). This is secured to the links (3) by a through bolt (4) with spring washer (5) and nut (6). Clearance around the bolt is sufficient to allow the block to move axially, while the block encloses a coaxial spindle at its lower end, rotating freely in its seat and forming the corkscrew proper.</p> |
