Utilising waste from continuously produced polyurethane foam - by recycling immediately to feed point of new mixture (BE140777)

A method of continuously producing rigid polyurethane foam or similarly reacting substances, faced or laminated at least partly with sheet material consists of introducing the already mixed component into a moving conveyor belt. The edges of the continuously moving foam are regularly trimmed and the foam may also be transversely cut; the resultant waste material is immediately recovered and returned to the feed point of the foam mixture. The material may be granulated before it is returned. More specifically, it is granulated and extracted by a blower to be returned to the starting point. The enormous amt. of waste material is recycled for immediate re-use. In this way, it is still sufficiently unreacted to combine chemically with the new mixt. and therefore does not remain as an inert filler in the new foam.
