<p>The tool removes from a bottle-neck the ring or skirt remaining after the cap has been removed by shearing off the screw cap. It comprises a support (16) fixed to a bracket which can be moved up and down. A cylindrical rod (14) is spring-loaded downwards, and slides vertically inside the support. At its bottom it has a centring cone (3) engaging in the bottle neck (11). Above the cone is a cylindrical mandrel with a stop (4, 5). An arm (9) pivots near the top end on a spindle (8) fixed to the cylindrical sleeve. At its lower end it has a tool (1) with a bevelled lower cutting edge (13) parallel to the support centre line. A third arm rocks on a spindle fixed to the support, and carries two flexible ejectors, spring-loaded into the rest position on either side of the tool.</p> |
