<p>The drop keels for a small boat can be used in pairs, one on each side, and are mounted on a spindle (1) secured across the hull (10). Each drop keel has an arm (3) which is immersed in the water when required, particularly when using sails. At the other end is a wheel (2) which can be used for landing. A plate or washer (4) is mounted under a securing nut at each end of the spindle to retain the two drop keels. A quick release bolt (5) fits through each keel and into the side of the hull. Alternatively there are two whells on each keel instead of one, and the keels are attached by a special block mounted on the hull.</p> |
