<p>The quick release plug-in hose coupling (A) has a coupling body (13) with a bore of varying dias. (2, 4, 16). The largest dia. (2) houses a seal ring (11) of rectangular corss section, a collet bush (8) and a release sleeve (5). The collet ring has slots (9) to provide radial flexibility for its circular knife edge (10) with which the hose is clamped when inserted. The release sleeve (5) is placed co-axially inside the collect bush and its trailing end is outside the coupling body. When the hose is inserted, the reaction of the air pressure forces the hose and the collet backwards until the outside taper of the collet is pressed against an internal circular ridge (5). This closes the collet and thus clamps the hose.</p> |
