Head up display for cockpit - with simple optic transformation and projection of signals onto windscreen

The cockpit is fitted with a simple head-up display with the projection system mounted behind the instrument panel, and projecting the display onto the windscreen focussed at infinity. A simple conversion system transforms the signal information into video signals which are led to the projector by fibre light guides or similar means. The transformation system for converting the signal levels to video can be made from LEDs, fluid crystals or any similar arrangement. No complex equipment is required. The system enables the pilot to devote maximum attention to the landing/take off process.
