PURPOSE:To improve the degree of freedom of a design, and also, to improve the power efficiency of a backlight, and moreover, to set a visual field angle to a wide angle by applying a phosphor to the display surface. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display panel displays an image on the display surface by controlling the transmission of a light beam from a backlight, and provided with a phosphor applied to the display surface. In such a case, the light beam from the backlight transmits through a liquid crystal 5 by the transmission quantity based on a video signal, and irradiates the phosphor 13. Accordingly, the phosphor 13 emits light, and can display a color image on the display surface 12. In such a way, a visual field angle comes to a wide angle, and also, the power efficiency of the backlight is improved, and the degree of freedom of a design is improved. |
