Two part plastics ski boot with ankle hinge - has hinge pins and seats with no rivets for joining

The ski boot has a shell forming the shoe lower part. The shoe uppers are hinged on the boot lower part and the uppers and the shell are made preferably from pressed plastics. The attachment of additional components such as the locking and pivoting component is greatly simplified. No rivets are used to improve the strength of the shoe. The pivoting hinge consists of a pair of seat bores and of pins (3) formed integrally with the shell (1). The axes of the these pins are horizontal and at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the boot. Each pin (3) has a penetrating axial slot (4). The uppers have bores (5) for hinge pins. The bores engage with the pins and a blocking element (7) in the slot (4) prevents axial displacement of the pin in relation to the pivot openings.
