1483220 Moulding containers SIDAPLAX 14 July 1975 [8 Aug 1974] 34965/74 Heading B5A A heated platen A (Fig. 2) clamps a sheet of thermoplastic material B over the end of a frusto-conical container mould C. While the cooler device D is in close proximity to the sheet, Fig. 1A or retracted, Fig. 2 the platen heats the sheet to forming temperature and the cooling device is advanced if necessary, to blow cooling fluid on to the sheet as indicated by arrows so as to control sheet thickness. The sheet is then formed in the mould by blowing air through the pressure application holes in platen A while simultaneously evacuating the mould through the vent holes F and retracting the cooler head to the position in Fig. 2. The cooler head can be advanced again to eject the moulded article. |
