1499915 Liquefied gas storage containers MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KK 4 Dec 1975 49909/75 Heading F4P A liquefied gas storage container comprises a rigid outer vessel 2 lined internally with insulation material 3 and a membraneous inner vessel 4 having side walling 4a supported at its upper end by resilient means 5 and attached at its lower end via a ring 6 to the bottom of the outer vessel 2, a base member 4b of the inner vessel being secured to the bottom of walling 4a, which has corrugations 4c. As shown, the container is inground and has a roof 8 supporting a plate 10 carrying insulation 11. The resilient means 5 are in the form of a bellows which takes up any slackness in the side walling 4a. The latter may comprise a plurality of panels with panels of insulation secured thereto, the latter slidably engaging the outer vessel 2. The space 12 above insulation is filled with a gas at ambient temperature and a pressure equal to the pressure (normally atmospheric) of vapour in space 13. |
