<p>Appts. automatically controlling forward and back movement of cloth in sewing machines, has cams mounted to regulate the size of each stitch and another cam which acts on a rod used for control of cloth movement continually as a function of the cam, which operates with every stitch, either forwards or backwards by an amt. equal to the stitch size in a continuous action, as decided by cam selection. Pref. the rod and the control are regulated by the length of the rod to carry out the above functions. Specif. the rod is mounted eccentrically in relation to the manual control of cloth movement, allowing its isolation to permit manual control.</p> |
