Mechanical biological sewage treatment basin - divided into lateral aeration and central reclarification sections joined by syphons

In the sewage treatment system, a lagoon is subdivided into a central reclarification section and two lateral activation sections. The aerating elements are arranged along the bottom of the partitions to produce a circulation which rises up on the partitions. Syphons join the activation sections and the central reclarification section. This requires a minimum of installation and operating costs. The area available for a lagoon is utilised to the optimum and the efficiency of the sludge activation and of the reclarification has been raised.
