PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the executing speed of a whole program by reducing access to a stack memory. SOLUTION: At the time of generation of a sub-routine branch processing instruction, a program return address (i) of a program counter 3a is saved and stored in not only a stack memory but also a stack buffer register 11, and a buffer status flag 10 is set. At the time of the generation of a restoration processing instruction, when the buffer status flag 10 is in a set state, the program return address is returned and supplied from the stack buffer register 11 to a program counter 3a. When the buffer status flag 10 is in a reset state, the program return address is returned and supplied from the stack memory to the program counter 3a.
