PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a belt type fixing device for preventing the occurrence of offset. SOLUTION: The belt type fixing device is provided with a heating body 1, a belt 5 coming into contact with the heating body 1, a driving body 3 for driving the belt 5, a follower 4 which is driven in accordance with the rotation of the belt 5, and a pressure body 2 coming into press contact with the heating body 1 through the belt 5. The belt 5 is stretched to be laid between the heating body 1, the driving body 3 and the follower 4, and then, an image carrier with an unfixed toner image is held/carried so that the image may be fixed at a fixing part where the heating body 1 comes into contact with the pressure body 2 through the belt 5, and an area where the heating body 1 comes into press contact with the pressure body 2 through the belt 5 is arranged on the downstream side in the belt 5 moving direction in a belt heating area where the belt 5 comes into contact with the heating body 1.
