PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an installing space and to effectively utilize a pan as a sorting device which can efficiently sort printed photographic papers for every order of a customer. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a vertical driving mechanism 17 lifting and carrying the pan 15 by using driving rods 17E fitted to endless chains 17A. Besides, it is provided with a horizontal moving mechanism 18 carrying the pan 15 carried to one end of the carrying path of the chain 17A to the carrying feasible area of the opposite-side chain 17A by engaging a slide block 20B with the pan 15 and driving the block 20B by an endless chain 18A. Thus, the moving posture of the pan 15 is set so that the receiving surface 15a thereof receiving the printed photographic papers faces upward at both of the case that the pan 15 is vertically moved by the driving mechanisms 17 and the case that it is horizontally moved by the driving mechanism 18.
