This unit furniture is built from any required number of cells consisting of vertical panels, decks and tops. The parts are assembled with the aid of sheet metal fittings. These are fixed to the side walls (3) by bolts (2) inserted in pre-drilled holes (4). The top (or base) piece (5) is then fitted to it by allowing the tongue (7) of the sheet metal support fitting to slot into a pre-drilled hole (6) in the top piece (5). The tongue (7) is inclined inwards at the base to draw the panels together for a closer fitting. This method produces furniture which can be easily assembled without expertise, and with only a little pressure to fit the panels closely together.
