The flush fitting door (1) of the cupboard has a hinge formed from a cylindrical fitting. The fitting has a serrated shank to provide a firm grip on the door. The lower end forms a collar which sits on the end face of the boss fitted in the ledge of the cupboard. A stub shaft rotates in the hole. The upper hinge is formed from a hollow cylinder (6) which houses a compression spring. The spring acts against a ball (13) which is retained by peening over the edge of the hole in body (6). The ball (13) can be depressed to fit the door (1). The ball (13) is then pushed by the spring into the countersunk end (12) of the hole (11).
