A filter electrode for a measuring cell in an electrochemical gas detector is a metal structure on a non-conducting carrier diaphragm which separates an electrolyte from the test atmosphere and is partially permeable to the electrolyte. The metal structure comprises a series of lines with multiple changes of direction, so that if the carrier diaphragm suffers a change in dimensions or shape the metal structure only undergoes a change in shape and retains its position relative to the diaphragm. The diaphragm has a profiled surface with e.g. corrugations, ribs, grooves, studs or similar structures.
|
