Rotary printing head (1) for producing printed products in autoamtic machines has a plate wheel with at least two selectable plate cylinders (52, 92). These cylinders carry at least two selectable plate cylinders (52, 92). These cylinders carry at least two controllable and preselectable plates (52, 54) and are themselves controlled by a pull magnet via toothed wheels (56, 58) and a toothed rod (60). - The plate cylinders are mounted to rotate in the side walls of the plate wheel. The selection from a large number of plates on plate cylinders can be made by an impulse generator via a stepping mechanism which can be disconnected by a control switch. - The design enables the number of selectable plates to be greatly increased without a corresponding increase in the dimensions of the rotary printing head.
