Axial blower with flow control has an impeller hub (1) which is mounted on a shaft (7). Blower blades (5) fit into the hub and can be adjusted with the aid of an adjusting motor (4) which acts on the blades via a bevel gear set (9) and an adjusting plate (6). A spindle sleeve (2) is positioned on the inner part of the hub whereby the angle of pitch of the spindle is equal to or less than the associated friction angle of the ball race (3). The design effects support of the impeller wheel on the shaft directly below its radial centre of gravity.
