Bending press for sheet metal - where bow of bending tool can be easily and rapidly adjusted

Device for achieving the convex bend in tool rails employed on bending presses or folding machines, uses a row of plungers located at intervals to press on the back of the rail to make the bend. A single spindle or rod rotated from one end of the tool holder is used to drive the row of plungers against the tool rail. The plungers pref. consist of threaded bars located in the threaded bores of worms which are rotated by a row of wormwheels mounted on the single spindle or rod. Used in bending presses, the tool rail used to bend metal sheet must be bowed in order that an even pressure is exerted along the entire width of the press. The invention permits the bow to be adjusted simply to suit different workpieces.
