Projector with relatively low rewind speed - has non-commutating motor with gearing system or interchangeable components for backward running

A cine film type projector has a normal forward feed velocity but a higher rewind or backward running speed. A drive motor system is provided which is of the non-commutating or transformation type. The drive motor is connected to the projector system by means of a gearing or transmission system which provides the requisite drive velocity for the projector. The gearing system consists of a series of easily interchangeable gear cogs and wheels. This gives a rewind or backward drive approx. one and a half times greater than the forward speed. This prevents damage to the film.
