The pool-sealing cover for swiming-pools, for open air or indoor use, is a rigid lid-type cover of material with a good heat-insulating capacity which can be lowered from above onto the surface of the pool. This is operated, mechanically or manually, by a central spindle shaft. In the case of indoor pools the shaft is attached to the ceiling, while out of doors the raising and lowering process is effected with the aid of telescopic uprights. Asymmetrical pool surfaces and entry spaces can be covered. A high degree of accident prevention security is provided, and unintentional lowering is checked by locking latches. The cover will bear the weight of peoples, making it possible to use the room or space for other purposes when the pool is not in use. The cover can be subsequently fitted to existing pools, with no structural alterations involved.
