<p>A device to brake a ski which has come free from a boot has a pivotal arm (10) mounted on a base plate (3) on the ski and supporting a pivotal brake plate (6). The arm and brake plate are connected by a pivot (5) which has stops (24, 24) preventing the brake plate pivoting beyond a position perpendicular to the arm (10). The brake plate has a hook (26) which is lockable behind a tongue (27) on the base plate. The arm pivot (4) extends parallel to the ski axis and is at 45 deg. to the pivot (5) so that the brake plate moves to a braking position at 45 deg. to the ski surface when the device is actuated.</p> |
