A clamp for the printing plate cylinder on a sheet feed rotary printing machine has the printing plate supplied with end perforations which coincide with fitting pins on clamping rails. A shaft (12) lying in a cylinder groove parallel to the cylinder axis is operated by a worm drive (13, 14) and has an adjustable stop (16) to facilitate the alignment of the clamping unit. - Two pairs of eccentric rings (11) are mounted on the shaft, and one ring in each pair is connected to one clamping rail and the other rings to the second opposed rail. The rings are connected to the rails by threaded bolts (9) having one end screwed into an articulated piece and the other end rigidly connected to collars (10) which encircle the rings.
