发明名称 METHOD OF SHAPING A METAL SHEET OF INFERIOR FORMABILITY
摘要 1464203 Cupping and spinning at elevated temperatures NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 22 July 1975 [22 July 1974] 30581/75 Headings B3Q B3J and B3V A refractory metal sheet, e.g. for a rocket motor chamber, is covered on both sides with a plate of more readily shapable metal, the thus covered sheet being then heated and shaped. Maraging steel, beryllium and titanium alloy sheets 14, Fig. 2, may be spun or cupped in a ring die by the method, using cover plates 28, 28<SP>1</SP> of mild or stainless steel secured together by welding 32, the plate 28 to be engaged by the cupping punch being thinner than the other plate 28<SP>1</SP>. A succession of heating and cupping stages are used after which the casing is removed and the cupped articles machined if required. The blank may be coated with graphite or molybdenum disulfide powder (36), Fig. 3 (not shown), or a spacer 40, Fig. 4, may separate the casing plates 28, 281 leaving a space 42 which is filled with a liquid lubricant or a solid which melts below the temperature to which the assembly is heated for cupping. The spacer 40 may be replaced by a flange on one of the plates. Examples of suitable solids are fats, low m.p. metals, e.g. lead, tin, aluminium and zinc and their alloys and mixtures, and inorganic minerals, e.g. chloride glass, serving as salt baths. Examples are given of blank holding and punch forces and working temperatures ranging up to 1100‹ C., e.g. 680-880‹ C.
