The ethereal monosubstitution of the monosaccharide derivative is preferably 3-o-3'- (N', N'-dimethylamino-n-propyl)-1, 2-o-isopropylidene-D-glucofuranose. The compounds may be administered orally, parenterally or rectally in the form of tablets, capsules, syrups, solutions or suppositories.
