<p>The automatic telephone answering machine connects directly to the telephone lines and has five pushbuttons (12-16) control the speed, rewind, etc. of the message tape. The circuit that connects the machine to the lines contains a self holding first relay operated by depressing the tape's rapid-forward push-button. The relay has a set of its contacts connected between the ringing circuit and a point on the rectifier bridge, and another set of its contacts connected between another line circuit and the other point of the rectifier bridge. A second relay has contacts in parallel with a third delay's contacts. The second relay into the tape motor's rectifier bridge, and the third relay into the tape motor's supply circuit.</p> |
