The dispenser is for sections of a strip of plastic material, for example a strip of plastic bags separated by lines of perforations. The dispenser comprises a cylindrical or rectangular casing inside which is placed the roll or strip of material. The strip is led out through a slot in the top of the casing. A cutting blade is attached to the casing, at a slight angle to it. It has a narrow cutting edge at the top and two curved lateral edges. The plastic strip has slots cut in the lines of perforations into which the cutter is fitted to that the end section can be torn off. In order to prevent unwanted accidental unrolling of the strip, the dispenser has braking devices acting on the support pieces which fit into the central support tube of the roll of plastic strip.
