The closing device is of the roll-up slatted blind or shutter type or similar, for covering a window or other opening in a building. It comprises a series of lamellae (10), mounted with the side of one against the side of the next. Each lamella is movably connected to the adjacent lambellae by devices (101) which enable its front face to the retained in a plane parallel to the plane of the next. There may be a pair of guide-rails enabling all the lamellae to h d in a single plane; and a device for steering each lamella into this plane and moving it out of it. This steering device can be a pair of grooves and hinges. The noise involved in opening and closing the blind is largely eliminated.
